We create bespoke cakes for any occassion, using natural and low intervention ingredients whenever possible.

Terms & Conditions

When placing an order, please note that we require a minimum of four days notice (96 hours). However, some dates may be fully booked in advance.
Payment in full is required in order to secure your booking. Please note that the booking is complete and booked in, only once payment is received (via bank transfer).
We have a no cancellations policy and we are unable to make any changes to the order if the notice is less that 48 hours of date of collection. In case of an emergency, we will be able to move up the date, given we are notified 48 hours prior to collection.
Please note that we use gluten, milk, eggs, nuts and soy in our kitchens. If you have an allergen or intolerance, we will try our best to create something suitable for you, however, we cannot guarantee no cross contamination.
All our bespoke cakes are made to order and are baked and designed individually, therefore their decoration may differ to an image you may have seen on our website or page.
The cakes, once collected should be stored in the fridge or in a cool place. We recommend bringing the cake to room temperature, an hour before serving. Cakes with fresh fruit and fresh flowers are best consumed on the day of collection.
The fresh flowers are for decoration purposes only and are not edible.

The Story

Hello! I am Alexa and alongside running my coffee shops, Aesthete Coffee + Kitchen in Walkley and Crosspool, I am a self taught baker, food enthusiast, crafter and photographer. 

My passion for baking started one summertime in Greece, when I was in my teens. By the time I was 21 years old, in 2015, I was determined to open my own place where I would have the honour of baking for people other than my family. It was on my 21st birthday when my mum and I decided to join forces and open our very first coffee shop, Alyssum Cafe Bistro in Crookesmoor which has now become my Baking Studio.

By 2019, we were ready to expand into bigger premises and decided to open a second shop, Aesthete Coffee + Kitchen in Walkley, a beautiful space, serving delicious brunch dishes, artisan coffee, speciality tea and of course, our cakes and bakes. In 2022, due to high demand, we decided to expand even further and open another shop in Crosspool.

Our cakes are inspired by decadent natural flavours and colours, using natural and low intervention ingredients whenever possible.

In our baking studio, my team and I create the cakes for all our coffee shops as well as bespoke cakes for any occassion!
